Daniel Kithome is an energy expert specializing in off-grid electrification, sustainable mobility, and impact-driven technical assistance. He has successfully implemented the World Bank’s Lighting Global and VeraSol standards for off-grid products, ensuring quality and compliance in rural electrification initiatives. His technical assistance work has supported statutory bodies such as the Zambia Bureau of Standards, the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, and the Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise.

In the e-mobility sector, Daniel led a feasibility study on electric mobility in Kenya, funded by the Clean Air Task Force. At CEI Africa, he plays a key role in the Technical Assistance Facility, supporting green mini-grid developers, off-grid solar companies, and standalone productive use of energy enterprises in strengthening their operational and technical capacities while ensuring compliance with CEI Africa TA policies and donor guidelines. He also contributes to the implementation of CEI Africa’s Results-Based Financing (RBF) and Smart Outcomes Financing (SOF) components. Additionally, he is supporting the launch of GreenShift Africa, a trade facilitation platform advancing sustainable mobility solutions across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Meru University of Science and Technology and is a certified solar PV installer for hybrid systems. He is fluent in English and Swahili and proficient in French.
