A Decade of Growth and Impact: My GreenMax Story

As we commemorate GreenMax’s 30th anniversary, I’m grateful to have been part of this impressive journey and look forward to what lies ahead.  When I joined the company over a decade ago, I aspired to build a career in clean energy. It has been my privilege to see this goal come to fruition as a member of the GreenMax team. Under Cliff’s steadfast leadership, GreenMax has identified and pursued visionary financial solutions to address complex challenges in the renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy access sectors. Above all, I have found that working at GreenMax has been a meaningful endeavor, as our work tangibly improves the lives of people in emerging markets across the globe.

When I reflect on my tenure with GreenMax, a project in the South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu stands out as an example of our impactful work. Over the course of two years, we helped the government develop the National Green Energy Fund (NGEF) to improve electricity access for rural households and businesses. One of the fund’s pilot projects involved financing a solar-powered refrigeration system for a fishing cooperative on a remote island. Another project supported the installation of a solar system at a primary school, providing it with clean energy access and reducing its electricity costs. Since its launch in 2018, the NGEF has funded more than 150 projects across the country to date. This is just one of the many similar projects I have been fortunate to support. As we continue to grow, so will our impact.

GreenMax’s success is a testament to the amazing and talented people who have been a part of the organization over all of these years. On a personal level, and as a new father, I am grateful to work alongside passionate colleagues who share my dedication to an equitable and sustainable energy transition that will safeguard our planet for future generations. The last 30 years have laid an impeccable foundation on which GreenMax will stand as an industry leader in the years to come!
