Alexander LaBua is a sustainable energy management professional with a decade of experience in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy access. As Director of GreenMax’s Consulting Group, he leads the firm’s consulting practice in emerging markets across Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean and the South Pacific.

As a Project Manager at GreenMax, Alexander supported preparation of an electrification roadmap and RBF facility to deliver off-grid energy services to underserved areas in Mozambique for Fundo de Energia (FUNAE). He also served as Project Manager for a regional off-grid solar market assessment in 19 countries across West Africa and the Sahel for the World Bank, coordinated the development of a national energy efficiency roadmap in Papua New Guinea for UNDP, and supported the design and implementation of the National Green Energy Fund (NGEF) in Vanuatu for the Global Green Growth Institute.

Alexander holds an M.A. from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs with a concentration in Sustainable Energy Management and Policy and a B.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University. He is fluent in English and Greek and proficient in Spanish.
