Jeff Felten is a clean energy consultant with more than 30 years of experience designing and implementing business or industry development interventions. He has worked on grid, off-grid and mini-grid renewable energy power projects, as well as energy efficiency and energy access programs and initiatives. Jeff has directed companies, managed large projects, and introduced a variety of new technologies into markets throughout Africa.

At GreenMax, Jeff leads the Consulting Group’s activities in Africa. Jeff is serving as the GreenMax Team Leader on the GET.invest Market Insights assignment in Mozambique, Uganda, Burundi, and Nigeria. He led preparation of an electrification roadmap and RBF facility to deliver off-grid energy services to underserved areas in Mozambique for Fundo de Energia (FUNAE). He is also a member of the GreenMax team implementing the KfW Clean Energy and Energy Inclusion for Africa (CEI Africa) Foundation, which provides financing and technical assistance to green mini-grid developers, off-grid solar companies and standalone productive use of energy enterprises in Africa.

Prior to joining GreenMax, Jeff managed the AfDB’s Green Mini-Grids Market Development Program, where he became a leading proponent and specialist in the use of RBF solutions. Jeff was previously Managing Director at Camco Clean Energy, where he was part of the team that designed the Renewable Energy Performance Platform, a blended finance facility that provides performance-based grants to clean power investments in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Jeff holds an M.A. in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago, Illinois, and a B.A. in Economics from San Diego State University in California. He is fluent in English and French.
