Kleen Energy Ltd. is a private Kenyan Independent Power Producer (IPP) engaged in the development of a 25 MW hybrid solar/wind project in the town of Thigio, Kiambu County. In 2016, Kleen Energy engaged GreenMax to conduct a preliminary site assessment, which provided an overview of the capacity/characteristics of the site recommending that it was viable for development of the proposed project. GreenMax was retained to secure concessional funding to complete project development activities, strategic investment partners and to oversee project development activities. A grant of EUR 300k was secured from the Energy and Environmental Partnership to support development of the project.
