Charlemagne Fandohan has more than 15 years of experience in project administration, market development, and results-based financing (RBF) for clean energy in West Africa. At GreenMax, Charlemagne is leading the implementation of the World Bank-funded Decentralized Energy Fund (Mwinda Fund), a $65M results-based financing (RBF) facility that will provide grants for standalone systems, mini-grids and productive use of electricity (PUE) in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He formerly led the $32M Off-Grid Clean Energy Facility (OCEF) under MCA-Bénin II as Team Leader with NIRAS, managing a multi-location team and overseeing grant disbursements. His prior roles include RBF-focused advisory work with GIZ, and grant coordination across public and private stakeholders.
Charlemagne holds a Master’s in Economics and Management (Audit and Control) from ISM Adonaï and a BBA from IIM Université. He is a certified expert in climate and renewable energy finance (Frankfurt School) and speaks French and English fluently.
