Damas Nfizi holds the position of ESG Specialist for the PIFORES Clean Cooking RBF Facility funded by the World Bank, which will support the deployment of clean cooking technologies in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He will ensure that the deployment of clean cooking solutions reaches the targeted beneficiaries while remaining compliant with the country’s environmental and social safeguard principles and those of the donors. Damas is also an ESG expert on the GreenMax team that is designing the PARSE energy access fund in the Central African Republic, which will provide subsidies for solar solutions and productive use of energy in the country.
Damas has more than 8 years of experience in the DRC in conducting studies and environmental impact assessments, developing environmental and social risk management plans, as well as in monitoring and managing sustainable development projects on behalf of various donors and institutions such as the World Bank, UNICEF, KPMG, and GEF, among others. Damas holds a master’s degree (bac+5) in Sustainable Development from the Higher Institute of Rural Development (ISDR) in Bukavu, DRC, as well as several certifications in environmental and social standards. He is fluent in French and English and proficient in Lingala and Swahili.
