Linda Thompson has over two decades of experience in the clean energy sector managing and leading project development teams. She has worked mainly in the solar and wind sectors in Southern Africa, having recently led the development of a large wind project in Zambia. As a senior manager for Mainstream Renewable Power and later Hive Energy, she led teams which developed and built some of the first renewable energy projects in South Africa under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Procurement Programme (REIPPP), the first large-scale competitive tendering in Africa, in addition to developing bilateral and bespoke projects.

As a consultant at GreenMax, Linda led an update of the World Bank Regulatory Indicators for Sustainable Energy (RISE) index for South Africa and Zambia.

Linda earned a B.A. from the University of Cape Town in African History. She is fluent in English and proficient in Afrikaans.
