Richard Kiggundu is an energy sector consultant with over two decades of experience in project management, market research and capacity building in Uganda’s renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy access and clean cooking market segments.

As a consultant at GreenMax, Richard is supporting the GET.invest Market Insights assignment in Uganda, which focuses on off-grid solutions across the food supply chain. He also led GreenMax’s update of the World Bank Regulatory Indicators for Sustainable Energy (RISE) index for Uganda and supported a study of the country’s direct use geothermal sector for UNIDO in collaboration with Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development. He previously provided business advisory services to SMEs in Uganda’s energy sector, including market research, advisory and technical assistance in marketing, sales, financial management, and staffing.

Richard holds a M.Sc. in Energy and Environmental Technology and Economics from City University of London, U.K., and a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. He is a member of the UK Energy Institute.
