Stafford Via has 20 years of experience in renewable energy, public policy, asset management, and financial analysis. As a Manager in the Consulting Group, Stafford supports GreenMax’s consulting practice in business development and project management roles. Stafford led the GreenMax team that provided mini-grid transaction advisory services to the government of Lesotho and co-led GreenMax’s management and update of the GET.invest Funding Database. Previously, he conducted country-level market research across Africa to support the launch of the GreenStreet Africa model, an aggregation platform which develops portfolios of distributed renewable energy projects at African public health and education facilities.

Prior to joining GreenMax, Stafford led project finance, financial structuring, project management, and strategy for a U.S.-based residential and commercial solar developer and investor. He also held a variety of leadership positions at Fidelity Investments, a global asset management firm based in Boston, MA, and worked in the Chief of Staff’s office at the U.S. Treasury Department for four years.

Stafford holds an M.P.A. from Brown University Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, an M.B.A. from Duke University Fuqua School of Business with a concentration in finance and energy policy, and an M.A. in Sustainable Energy from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
